Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: Why do you need my household’s income?
A: In order to make sure the participating households
are representative of all households throughout the
Basin region, households with varying incomes need
to be represented.
Q: What is defined as a trip?
A: A trip is when you have to leave your current address,
whether it’s from home or somewhere else, to
go to another place. Examples: leaving your home to
go to the grocery store, leaving your home to go to
work, leaving your work to go to lunch, leaving your
work to go home, stopping at the gas station on your
way home from work.
Q: How much detail is needed on each place I visit?
A: Detailed addresses
are an integral part in analyzing where people are
making trips. Your detailed address information will
enable planners to “map” out
where traffic is most congested and at what times during
the day to gain a better understanding of what improvements
are needed.
Q: What do I do with the
diary after I’ve completed
it?
A: A NuStats interviewer will call you to collect
the information. Please hang on to it for a few more
days in case we need to call you back for clarification.
After that, you can mail it back in the enclosed business
reply envelope at no cost to you.
If you need additional information about:
- The project so you will feel more comfortable participating,
please call Ms. Bobbi Coulter, TRPA, at 775-771-7320,
or e-mail her at BJCoulter@charter.net
- Anything else, please call Jesse Casas at 1-800-447-8287,
ext. 2226, or email him at: jcasas@nustats.com
Remember, a NuStats interviewer
will call you the day after your assigned travel
date so please don’t
throw your diary away until after we call to collect
the information.
